Our Veedersburg Roofing Services

Roof Repair
Cracked, lifted, or missing shingles let water in fast. We find the source, fix it properly, and document the repair so you have a clear record of the work done.

Roof Replacement
When repairs no longer make sense, we do a full tear-off and install a new roof built for Indiana weather. No subcontractors. Our own crew handles the job from first nail to final cleanup.

Roof Inspection
Most homeowners don't know there's a problem until a stain appears on the ceiling. A yearly inspection catches soft spots, cracked flashing, and worn valleys before they become expensive repairs.

Storm Damage Repair
Hail and wind do not warn you. We assess damage quickly, photograph everything, and work directly with your insurance company to make sure the claim is documented correctly.

Gutter Installation
Gutters that back up or pull loose direct water straight toward your foundation. We install seamless gutters sized for your home and properly pitched to move water away from the structure.

Maintenance Programs
A spring and fall maintenance visit adds years to any roof. We clear debris, re-seal flashing, check ridge caps and penetrations, and catch small problems before they turn into emergency calls.

Built for Indiana Weather
Roofs Built to Survive Fountain County Winters and Storms
Veedersburg roofs take a beating!
About 23 inches of snow a year, January lows in the low 20s, and summer heat that pushes shingle surfaces past 150 degrees.
That freeze-and-bake cycle is what springs leaks.
A roof installed right right by Taggart Construction should last 15 – 20+ years.
-
Ice and Water Barrier
We run it along every eave and valley so ice dams can't push water back under your shingles.
-
Proper Ventilation
Balanced attic airflow keeps trapped summer heat from baking years off your roof.
-
Built for Hail
Impact-rated Owens Corning shingles where your roof takes the worst of Indiana's 20-plus hail days a year.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if my roof needs repair or replacement?
A repair makes sense when damage is limited to one section: a few missing shingles, a small leak around a vent, or flashing that has pulled loose. A replacement is the right call when the roof is more than 20 years old, when more than a third of the surface is showing wear, or when the cost of repairs would be more than half the price of a new roof. We offer free inspections and will tell you honestly which option makes sense for your situation.
What roofing materials work best for Indiana weather?
Asphalt shingles are the most common choice for Indiana homes. They are affordable, come in a wide range of styles and colors, and hold up well when installed correctly. We use Owens Corning architectural shingles with Class 4 impact ratings for better hail resistance. Metal roofing is a stronger long-term investment if you plan to stay in your home for 40-plus years. It handles ice dams and high winds better than shingles and typically carries a 50-year warranty.
How much does a roof replacement cost in Veedersburg, IN?
A typical asphalt shingle roof replacement on a Veedersburg home runs between $8,000 and $15,000, depending on square footage, pitch, and the shingle grade you choose. Metal roofing costs more upfront, usually $15,000 to $25,000 for a full residential replacement, but it lasts two to three times as long. We provide written estimates with line-item pricing so you know exactly where every dollar goes.
Does Taggart Construction handle insurance claims for storm damage?
Yes. We have handled a large number of storm damage claims and know what documentation insurers require. After a hail or wind event, we inspect your roof, photograph the damage, and provide a detailed scope of work that supports your claim. We communicate with your adjuster directly if needed. We do not do public adjusting, but our documentation is thorough enough that the claims process usually goes smoothly.
Do I need a permit for a roof replacement in Indiana?
In most cases, yes. A full roof replacement in Indiana needs a building permit, and here in Fountain County we pull it for you. The permit cost is built into your written estimate, so there are no surprise fees and no paperwork on your end. Learn more about Indiana roof permit requirements, or just call us before we start.
How long does a roof replacement take in Veedersburg?
Most residential roof replacements take one full day for our crew. A larger home or a complex roofline with multiple angles and penetrations may take two days. Weather is the one variable we cannot control. If there is rain in the forecast, we schedule around it. We do not leave a partially stripped roof uncovered overnight without proper protection in place.
How soon can you come out to look at my roof?
Usually within a few days. We’re based right here in Veedersburg, so you’re not waiting weeks for a crew to drive in from out of town. If you’ve got an active leak, say so when you call and we’ll move you up the list.
When is the best time of year to replace a roof in Indiana?
Late spring through early fall is ideal, when temperatures are steady and shingles seal the way they should. We roof year-round, though. We just watch the forecast and never leave a roof open overnight without proper protection.
Will my homeowners insurance cover hail or storm damage?
Often, yes, when the damage comes from a covered event like hail or high wind. We inspect the roof, document everything with photos, and write up a detailed scope that supports your claim. If it helps, we’ll talk with your adjuster directly.
Do you only work in Veedersburg?
No. Veedersburg is home base, but we cover all of Fountain and Warren Counties, including Covington, Attica, Williamsport, and Hillsboro. Same crew, same guarantee, wherever you are.
Recently Completed Project
Taggart construction did an awesome job. On 1 property they completely roofed 2 sheds on probably the hottest day of the summer and they looked fantastic. The following week they stripped part of a roof and roofed it. On that same house they sided it. He checked with us about the color (I wanted yellow) a couple of times and found what I wanted.
The final project, a shed with a lean to same property. We were told by others contractors it would cost more than it was. The roof looks great new boards were needed and now it is solid. Thank you. Also the workers are super nice.
